This past week, we were proud to be one of several sponsors for “Night of the Flight”, which was Roc Solid Foundation’s attempt to break the record for the world’s largest toy pistol fight.
This was Roc Solid’s seventh annual evening fundraiser, and the third in a row where Reliance/COATS have sponsored a table, but it was a special one to honor the memory of seven-year-old Derick Palmer, who passed away due to brain cancer.
“The ability to bring hope, to these children and their families, gives us hope. Seeing the smile on their face and the peace on their parents face makes every hour worth it.” said Karen Connor, vice president of business development for Reliance and COATS Office Automation and a member of the Board of Directors with Roc Solid.
Roc Solid continues to build for the community, assembling just last month a play ground for 8-year-old Ethan Gallagher, a child fighting leukemia. (See Facebook Photos)
Roc Solid Foundation builds hope for children fighting cancer by providing ways for them to temporarily escape the burdens of doctors appointments and treatments through opportunities to do what they do best – play.
Reliance and COATS have sponsored builds for Roc Solid and are proud to be able to participate and help to provide children with hope during a very difficult time in their life.
